missed message - gestational ageFrom: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Aug 2003 19:10:45 -0500 (CDT)
I had my 20 week ulrtasound today. They said the baby weighed 14 ounces. Isn't that too big? I thought it was supposed to be about 8 ounces. Could I be further along than we think? What is "too big" at this point? This is my first pregnancy, I'm 27 and the baby is a boy. The size is in the 97 percentile. All of the other measurements put it at 21 to 22 weeks (still "big" for that age), but doc maintains it is a 20 week baby because of the US at 7 weeks. I had irregular periods, so can't go by that. Is it possible the first "accurate" one was wrong? I felt the quickening at 17 weeks, the placenta took over hormone production at 10 weeks and I was still smoking from 1 to 18 weeks.
