Fibroid inquiries

I am 38 weeks pregnant. I have a fibroid at the uterous that measured the size of a baseball at 32 weeks. The baby is transverse and I am scheduled for a c-section next week as a result. Two questions: Can a fibroid burst during a Braxton Hicks contraction? And how long will it take for the fibroid to go down in size after delivery? Does it decrease in direct proportion to the shrinking of the uterus? Thank you for your time.
