When you go in they'll give you something to start your induction, which will start your contractions. If I'm not mistaken they'll break your water for you. No it's not necessarily miscalculation, it just happens sometimes. With me, when I was induced I still wouldn't dilate enough so I had to have a C-Section. But that's notalways the case. Inducing is just basically starting your labor for you. Good luck, hope this helps
