Labor to be inducedFrom: Andi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Aug 2003 08:16:54 -0500 (CDT)
I am 41 weeks + 5 days pregnant with my third child. If I don't have the baby "naturally" by Tuesday (9-2), then I will be induced by pit drop. I was just wondering if any one else has had this done. Do I just show up at the hospital at my "alloted" time (9 am) and they just...start? OB didn't really give me any instructions other than to be there Tuesday if I haven't delivered before then. Also, wondering if there are any known causes for babies going beyond 40 weeks (and no, it was not a miscalculation on my part...I have very regular cycles, and I keep very close track of them, so I know when my LMP was before I got pregnant...I even know the date of conception). I have looked it up on the internet, and on the archives here, but the only conclusion that I have come to is that mom's go beyond 40 weeks gestation cause of a miscalculation. Any one know or ever heard of any other reasons? At my last OB appointment (Thur 8-28), I was NOT dialated and the baby was at -2 station. (Discouraging news)! Thanks for your alls' input! :-)
