Could you ask your doctor why she is using cytotec instead of pitocin? Cytotec carries more risk for mom, but there may be a valid med reason why pitocin is not an option for you.

With a closed cervix, you have a 50-80 percent chance of delivering vaginally - i.e. prepare yourself for the possibility of a c-section, but don't give up hope. Simply put, some women respond to cytotec/pitocin and some women don't. Modern medicine cannot put every woman in labor on demand, only some women some of the time.

Try to hold off getting an epidural (if at all) until you are at least 5 cm dialated since epidurals slow down labors, and an early one may make the induction ineffective.
