Re: EndometriosisFrom: Alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Aug 2003 20:14:52 -0500 (CDT)
Stephanie, I am 20 years old also and went through the same exact situation last year. I had pain for years before I found a doctor that would do a lap. I do have endo and after the surgery I went on lupron depot. I had a hot flashes and vaginal dryness and the best part NO periods. As for the lupron effectly fertility, I got pregnant while on lupron. I don't recommend it because pregnancy hasn't been studied at all in humans and even though my baby girl came out healthy, it's not worth the worry. I was pain free for 6 months while on the lupron and then for the 7 months left of my pregnancy. Soon after my pregnancy the pain returned. My doctor is talking another lap and a round of a different hormonal treatment now. Nothing will ever make it go away short of a hysterectomy. It will continue to grow and grow. Treat it until you decide to have a child. Untreated endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility. Good luck...if you have any other questions or want advice, feel free to email me - aliciaagray@yahoo.com
