Rust in water dangerous? Doc help please...From: Colleen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 13 Aug 2003 20:35:45 -0500 (CDT)
I just moved into a new apartment and the water runs slightly brown/yellow for a few seconds every time you turn it on. Today, the building was doing some plumbing repairs and when the water was turned back on it ran extremely brown for about a minute or so. I told the manager about it and he said it was probably rust. Could this type of exposure be dangerous to my baby? I am just 5 weeks and worried about everything due to miscarriage last year. I am even questioning my use of bleach to clean this morning and the strong fumes. I desperately want to carry this baby to term and want to make sure I am doing everything right. Thank you so much! P.S. A friend mentioned something about the need to get rid of my cat because of problems with pregnancy and I have never heard of this. I have had a cat my entire life and can't imagine getting rid of him. I have someone changing the litter to avoid issues of toxoplasmosis.
