episiotomy questionFrom: Alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 11 Aug 2003 19:46:55 -0500 (CDT)
Hi everyone. I haven't been on in a while...so busy with Kaitlyn, who is almost three months old already! I just have a question about my episiotomy. I saw my ob/gyn at 7 weeks and she said everything looked good and gave me the ok to have sex again. I had no pain whatsoever during the healing period nor once sex was resumed. Now, a month and a half after that dr visit, I started having problems. The other night in the middle of having intercourse I experienced this excruciating pain at the incision site. Looking at it later, it looks like the incision opened up a bit but it's not bleeding. It's been a couple of days but it still hurts. I am now without health insurance so I haven't scheduled a dr appointment. Should I? And why did this happen in the first place?
