I am not a doctor; however, I am pretty sure that bacterial vaginosis is caused by bacteria and not yeast. I am also pretty sure that you can take antibiotics to get rid of it. I have never heard of having it for 15-20 years. That sounds crazy. I know my friend had it and she took a round of antibiotics and it went away immediately.
