Regular contractions with no progressFrom: Aimee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 8 Aug 2003 09:02:19 -0500 (CDT)
Hello. I'm 40 weeks pregnant and have been dialated to 3 cm for two weeks now. The baby is nearly at 0 station, I lost my mucus plug three weeks ago when I had a cerclage removed, and I have had contractions 2 - 4 minutes apart, but I'm not making any progress dialating. I'm uncomfortable, sleepless, in pain, and I requested yesterday to have me induced, which my doctor refused. I have missed a LOT of time from work because of this "high-risk pregnancy" (which doesn't seem to be so high-risk afterall) and am extremely depressed and even find myself resenting my unborn child and this pregnancy. Is there anything I can do to induce labor naturally? Is there really such thing as scar tissue from a cerclage that will inhibit labor? Any advice/information would be appreciated. Thanks, Aimee
