I would too, like to know the answer to this. I have had the same thing happen to me twice now, the only difference is that right after the positive results, I get my period. (within a few days). I usually skip a period altogether before I test, then get positives, then negative blood serum. Mine are always quantitive. I feel like a fool going in to get my blood drawn for it only to show up negative, all the while holding the positive tests in my hand. I always ask how this could of happened and NO ONE ever knows! I hope we get an answer to this wierd stuff that is going on. Best of luck to you!!!

Dear Anonymous, This is a little different that the other situation, you are getting a positive HPT then a negative quantitative serum HCG (amount HCG?) then your period in a few days, this sounds like a chemical pregnancy, basically the same questions apply. If you have had this happen two or more times you might have some immune testing done perhaps there is a reason for having chemical pregnancies.

Another thing to try, is if you miss your period again and test with another HPT and scientific method. Have at least a pair of tests and know at what level they are sensitive, collect 1st am urine in a clean container(Get one from your doctor), do your test, if positive, take the urine sample and go to the doctors office with the positive test, the sample and the spare test, have them do their test, they should know at what level it is sensitive and do your spare test, so there is no confusion as to the sample, discuss this ahead with your doctor so that you can coordinate your efforts. If they all come up positive and a serum HCG comes up negative something could be confounding one or the other test, hence the questions about allergies, reactions Rx/OTC antibodies. Your doctor might run some tests for antibodies, also have your thyroid checked. Marie
