You can try using the mucus method to determine your fertility (there is pleanty of reading on the internet) it is sometimes called the billings method. Even though you fluctuate in your cycle time you can still use the mucus to determine fertile time. Also, I have read that even if your cycle varies if you take the longest cycle time you have recently had ie 36 and subtract 14 from there that is the day you most likely will ovulate. You should try to concieve around that time. Sperm can live for 3 days, sometimes said 5, but more generally accepted as 3. It is suggested to try to concieve every other day, so the sperm count has a chance to replenish. You would want to start a few days before what you believe is your ovulation date and continue a few days past it. Hope this helps...I have done a lot of reading on this since my cycle is not to regular either.
