Last night I was at the LDR for PTL for the second time. This time, they ran a in depth dip test that revealed high levels of dehydration... I had been drinking as much water and juice as humanly possible- it is a fight to drink that much and to eat a sufficient intake. At the time the PTL started, I had had 1.5 liters of water, 16 oz of milk, 12oz soda (1 caffinated beverage was OK'd for my headaches), and about 12 oz of Koolaid. I had been inside with the A/C at 74 degrees and not sweating particularly badly... what is wrong with this picture... I can't drink anymore than I am... I get sick to my stomach when I force myself...

Dear Valerie, To stay hydrated, you need to drink more, figure 8+oz liquid every hour. Things that may help, avoid cold beverages drink at room temp or higher, if cold, only a few sips at a time, or pour out small portions 1/2 cup size at a time, but drink quickly and wait a while for the next serving, that way you trick your stomach into thinking it is only one sip. If you don't like plain water add a small amount of fruit juice. If your blood pressure is ok a little salt may be ok, eat foods with high water content like mellons, celery, grapes. Did you get your thyroid rechecked yet? I hope this helps, Marie
