breath-taking pin and needle pains

I am 37 weeks pregnant with my third child. The past week or so, I have noticed the most horrible stab like pains in my lower back, upper legs, and lower abdomen. My baby moves alot in the womb and it's often after a "major roll from him" that I'll notice one of these breath-taking jabs. They only last a second and they don't happen very often (but at least 10 of these little "pains" a day). Has anyone ever experienced this? I did not have this with my other two kids...they also didn't move as much as this little guy does. Could he be "sitting" on some nerve of mine causing these stab like pains...or what? You'd think after two kids that I would know all this stuff, but this pregnancy has been unlike the other two in just about every way! :-)

Thanks! Andi
