Will starting this late increase the >baby's risk of having neural tube defects?

The earlies you begine the lowest the risk

I am now taking 5 mg of folic >acid QD. Also, in my first pregnancy my AFP's were low, but the baby

No

Depend on the evolution of the pregnancy. You'll have to talk about this with your doctor.
