GBS is not an infection. It is a normal occuring part of people's flora, found on the skin, in the nose, digestive tract, vagina, etc, of healthy adults. You've most likely had the bacteria way before this point, so he's already been "exposed" to it, so to speak. It will not cause an infection in an adult with a healthy immune system.

My first daughter was born infected with GBS nearly 5 years ago. I have never in my life had a vaginal infection, not even yeast, and my husband has likewise never had an infection of the sort that would be passed on through sex.
