2 D&C's - no natural miscarriage, why?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 25 Jul 2003 04:08:45 -0500 (CDT)
I've had two D&C's. First one was fully formed fetus, no heartbeat or bloodflow around baby. Waited 3 weeks for D&C (earliest they could schedule me) no bleeding or anything. Second was for Blighted Ovum, discovered during 6 week ultrasound, monitored with weekly ultrasounds until 10 weeks, D&C scheduled for 11 weeks, and barely spotting about 3 days before scheduled D&C. Why do I seem to not be able to miscarry naturally?? Is that an indication of high progesterone levels?? Also, I have suffered very long (only 2-3 per year) cycles, and was determined to be anovulatory. Doc said that all blood tests have come back normal thus far. He never did any Day 3 bloodwork, just day 21 progesterone, which came back low the one month he did do it at 7, but that I think was due to me not ovulating until Day 18. Could these cycles be cause for me suffering recurring miscarriages?? I don't agree with the Doctors view that I have to suffer a 3rd before he will send me to a specialist. There have been studies to prove this is an unnecessary step. Just looking for causes for my miscarriages, and possible solutions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance
