37 weeks, cerclage removed 3 days ago, extreme rectal pressureFrom: Aimee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 23 Jul 2003 05:43:27 -0500 (CDT)
I had a cerclage in place due to a lacerated cervix. The cerclage was removed 3 days ago. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant. I've been having regular contractions (3 - 4 min apart) since the cerclage was removed but I haven't made any "progress". I'm 1 - 2 cm dialated and at a -2 station, 80% effaced. The contractions are felt mainly in my rectal area and it's hard to walk or sit up straight. They said my cervix is extremely postiorior and I have scar tissue from the cerclage. What does this mean? Is there anything I can do to help labor progress if I'm already contracting regularly? Thank you! Aimee
