Go to "other fertility detection methods" for an explanation of the terms described in "trying for a girl." The theory of being able to choose the sex of your child is based upon the idea that male sperm swim quickly and live a shorter amont of time, and female sperm swim slowly and live longer. Statistically, it takes most couples at least 6 months to get pregnant even if they follow the fetility detection methods. You will probably maximize your chances if you don't attempt to choose the sex. For more information, do an internet seach under "trying to concieve" also known as TTC. You may find a simpler overview to start with.
