I have not been through this and can't even imagine the pain your brother and sister-in-law are in. I only wanted to suggest that you also check out http://www.babycenter.com They have a lot of bulletin boards for every topic and I have seen some amazing people there that have survived unimaginable things.

I hope your family finds the help it needs. They are in my prayers,
