Hello~ I am 39 weeks pregnant, 1 1/2 cm dilated, 50% effaced, 0 station and I had my membranes stripped 4 days ago. I am trying to figure out if I have a possible amniotic fluid leak??? This morning my husband and I had sex. About 30 minutes later as I was blow drying my hair I had clear fluid running down my leg that made a small puddle on the floor. This happened 3 times within 15-20 minutes. About an hour later I was examined by my doctor. She used a test strip on my underwear that I was wearing when I had the leaking, it came back positive (turned blue) for amniotic fluid. Then she did an internal exam with a swab and it came back negative on the test paper as well as on the slide. I really do not feel that this was urine. It was clear and had no smell. My main concern is that if this is amniotic fluid I am worried about infection. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank You.
