'oops' adhesive solvent and early pregnancyFrom: lma (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 8 Jul 2003 18:54:59 -0500 (CDT)
I'm very early in pregancy still, awaiting my first ultrasound at 6.5 weeks. About one week after conception, my husband and I put down trim molding on our new pergo floor. I got wood ahesive all over my hands. I used this stuff called "Oops" which is like "goo gone" and other "goo-removers" to clean up some on the floor and also to wash my hands. I used a lot, but I did rinse it off. I'm afraid, though, that it was on my skin for a while as I worked on the floor. The "Oops" container says it contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause birth defects. How worrisome should this be? I'm a nervous nellie to begin with, and I lost a pregnancy early back in February, so I'm particularly paranoid. Any reassurance would be appreciated. Thanks
