In my opinion, constantly erring on the side of caution often leads to a serious imbalance in one's ability to judge the difference between real and imagined concerns.

Of course, I'm just a mother researching childbirth on the web so I'm probably an even lowlier source of information. :)

Concern for your sister is admirable but is she concerned too? If the mother in question wants an ultrasound to ease her own fears, that's one thing. Asking her to get an ultrasound to ease *your* fears is unreasonable, in my opinion.

Trust your sister to do what is best and encourage her to stand up for herself, if you need to. Just remember that there is a fine line between supporting someone and pushing someone and make certain you are not pushing your sister before proceeding.
