I agree. What is Katya going to do when her child starts walking/running/ climbing? Strap her in a wheelchair so that she has no chance of hurting herself? Babies wake at might - end of story. They need to be fed often, as breast milk is easily digested. Lack of regular feeding can actually cause developmental delays - so don't be too quick to get your baby to sleep through the night, at least until they are weaned.

The use of duct tape in any capacity sounds like nazi-parenting to me. Let your kids grow and develop, which will inevitably include a few nicks and scrathes.

Just because it is written in a book, doesn't mean it is right. Dr Carp, to many experienced, good parents is also known as Dr. CRAP.
