Re: 'Happiest baby on the block' tipsFrom: lorrie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 5 Jul 2003 15:39:33 -0500 (CDT)
Swaddling was the only thing that seemed to calm my newborn. He'd cry, I'd swaddle tightly, and he'd be content. I spent many nights swaddling and reswaddling him because each time the blanket came loose and his arms would flap around, he'd become very distressed. At the time I remember thinking how nice it would be to have a papoose. I think that duct tape is a very industrious idea Katya and I plan to use it next time. I have a feeling that if you had said that you tightly secured your swaddle with snaps, buttons, velcro, or pink silk ribbons that you'd sewn into the blanket, no one would have jump to the conclusions that they've jumped to. Anyone that has read your emails can see that your an attentive and caring mom who has found a way to help her baby feel secure as she adjusts to life outside the womb.
