Just to clarify- swaddling my 5 week old 20 hrs per day would be too much. I can see how it would start out that way with a newborn though- they keep them tightly swaddled in the hospital, and even show you how. My baby cried for hours the second night after she was born, and has continued to be very fussy- I am grateful to understand that it may be from her feeling insecure and in need of swaddling- at least last night proved something to us. We feel so helpless and bad for her when she cries for hours, if this gives her some relief then that's awesome:) Best wishes to you too, Darcie
