Re: babywise stuff - different parenting styles should not be judged......

This sounds really similar to the method I used from "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". Some babies do well on this type of routine (like my son #2). Others fall into something similar on their own (son #1). It really depends on your parenting style. Yes... I let my baby cry it out at 5 months and it worked really well. This doesn't make me a bad mom. I did what I thought was best for my baby and myself. I now have two very happy and well-adjusted boys. My 2 year old sleeps really well... 7:30 to 7 and a 3 hour nap. My 8 month old sleeps from 7:30 to 7 and has a 2 hour nap in the morning and a 1 hour nap in the afternoon. They are both well-behaved and well rested. Bravo to the moms who are able to get up for their babies every hour for a year or more. I wasn't one of those and took steps to make our lives "better". This doesn't mean that I'm not grateful that I have a beautiful healthy baby!!!! I simply taught my son to fall asleep on his own. I didn't neglect him and he certainly doesn't have attachment problems. I love my sons very much. After all that's why I decided to leave my career to care for them myself. I just resent some saying that letting your baby cry = not caring properly for him/her. Yes... some prefer attachment parenting but some don't. We should really respect different parenting styles and not judge.
