I was quite happy to wake up when the baby woke up. Yes, i was tired a lot, but there is something special about spending time with your wee one in the middle of the night while the rest of the world dreams. Swaddled or not, I think moms know what is best for their own baby. I listened to a lot of well intentioned moms offer (sometimes force) their advice on child rearing before and after my baby arrived. (I must admit, most of the forceful ones are Babywise moms) In the end it was all between the wee one and me.... and Daddy too. My baby is very happy, always smiling, singing, dancing, and secure... He was not swaddled tightly.
