Hello Anonymous, I know that in natural cycles, if the initial progesterone is above 10 ng (or some say 12-15) they do not tend to test for it again as it is considered normal and there is no reason to expect a fall in the levels (in a normal pregnancy)..of course this does not include those who have had proven m/c from progesterone insufficiency. However, in a stimulated cycle, or one using a donor ovum (IVF and even some IUI injectible cycles)it is my belief that they usually supplemetn with either Progesterone in oil injections or tablets/suppositores as the body has been coaxed into pregnancy. I would think that if the dr started you on progesterone on time and the pregnancy is 'normal' (genetically etc) that it is possible to save it. best wishes, not a dr..
