Re: DR ~ will a baby that is induced at 37 weeks, inevitably go to NICU?From: lynn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Jun 2003 23:33:24 -0400
Hi, I believe 37 weeks+ is considered full term. My son was induced exactly 3 weeks early (and I was sure of my dates because I was on injectibles), and he was 8 lbs. 14 oz. I am small boned and am glad my dr. didn't let me go any longer because I may have had trouble with delivery. My son had a 10 apgar, and was perfect. Most 37 weekers will NOT go to NICU and are not considered preemies. What amniocentesis are you talking about? Why would they do one before an induction? They didn't do one for me, and I'm confused why they would do one for you.
