Question about Insulin ResistanceFrom: Krista (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Jun 2003 17:22:32 -0500 (CDT)
What is the rate of occurence of developing Insulin Resistance AFTER having a naturally conceived full term pregnancy? I have been ttc #2 for a year now and it was recently determined that I am Insulin Resistant. My 1st pregnancy, I tested borderline for gestational diabetes and only gained 22lbs. Since delivering (daughter died due to complications at birth), I have put on an additional 10lbs above my weight at time of delivery. I've heard of a lot of women experiencing infertility because of the Insulin Resistance (which is a symptom of PCOS) primarily, but not heard of the odds of it developing after a naturally conceived pregnancy. All info is greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks......
