I had an ultrasound on Friday and we could see two decent sized follicles. I was sent home with a collection kit incase I surged over the weekend. I surged this morning instead. I have been doing this routine for a long time, as this is how we conceived my baby boy. As a matter of fact this is IUI number 10 total and we had been doing ultrasounds and shots for almost a year previous to the IUI rounds. Usually if I surge on my own, my doctor gives me a shot of profassi (sp?) just for an added boost... WITHOUT HAVING ANOTHER ULTRASOUND... Today I went in for the profassi shot, and the nurse announces that the doc will not give me a shot of profassi without a second ultrasound. So I tried to ask why since it has never been this way before. I was refused an answer from the nurse, and was unable to even speak to the doctor. She just said... "Do you want the shot or not?"b Another doctor does all the ultrasounds, and he didn't want to speak for my doctor. Any ideas.... What is she afraid the profassi will do that she wasn't afraid of before. I have had up to 3 follicles in the past and still received a profassi shot without an additional ultrasound. Sometimes I feel like they are just adding to the bill... I don't want to feel that way, so I am trying to understand. P.S. AS ALWAYS... I am on 150 mgs clomid. So what was she looking for?
