And considering they said the >fetus was doing well, should we worry about the bleeding? > >thanks, > >-- >peter > Hello Peter, Pregnancy can be a worrying time. It is good that you were able to see a heart beat on the u/s. Althpough it does not mean that your wife will not miscarry, the odds are more in her favour. I hope that things turn out good for you. Below is information from a website: http://www.womens-health.co.uk/epau.htm It gives some reassurance about seeing a heart beat and bleeding: "Miscarriage rates after confirmed viability by ultrasound Menstrual age Pregnancy loss 6 - 7.9w 17% 8 - 9.9w 11.2% 10 - 11.9w 5.6% 12 - 13w 4.3% overall 6-13w 8.8% This information is useful for counselling patients after a reassuring scan. Loss rate after a normal scan is similar in symptomatic vs asymptomatic patients, thus a patient who experiences some vaginal bleeding may be reassured that her prognosis is as good as that of an asymptomatic patient if the scan is normal." I hope this helps. Best wishes,
