Re: (to Kristie) Causes for m/c after testing normalFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Jun 2003 02:06:35 -0500
Kristie, I can't imagine 7 losses! I thought my 3 losses were bad...wow. I don't know how you kept the faith. Did you have a D&C each time? I tried to miscarry naturally after my 2nd m/c, but I bled and bled for 2 months (yes, 2 months), but baby and sac remained. Not only is the procedure intrusive, but expensive! I have a $500 co-pay each time. Can you believe that? I took 100mg of prometrium my last pg (even though my progesterone level was 27) and took the baby aspirin due to my ANA+, but it still didn't help (and no sex and did bed rest)! I don't know how you have kept going. If the chromosome testing on our baby comes back abnormal, we're talking about adoption. If it's normal, I'll check into seeing a specialist. I don't know what else they can test me for, except I think maybe allo-immune problems (something like that...it's where the mother's body thinks the baby is an intruder and fights it off). Were you ever tested for that? Sorry to keep bugging you w/ questions. The docs haven't responded to my two posts on this. I've been reading my DES binder (they sent me a free, huge binder full of info...I got it from DES Action online). They mention that DES daughters are at a higher risk for m/c, but don't explain why (they mention higher rates of ectopic due to misshapen tubes and 2nd trimester losses due to incompetent cervix), but no explanations on 1st trimester inutero losses. I still wonder if my egg quality has been affected. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? I had our son when I was 30, but since then I've had all m/c (age 32-34). Could I have an age factor as well, you think? My mind is spinning w/, "Could it be this or that or this or that??" Driving me crazy! Well, at least you do give me hope that you have 3 children. I really, really appreciate you writing. :-) Mel on 6/29/03 5:44 PM, anonymous@obgyn.net at anonymous@obgyn.net wrote:
