I had to only drink 20 oz. It wasn't bad at all. They said to drink it between 1/2 hour and 1 hour before appointment time. I didn't even feel a need to urinate during the exam, but the tech told me I could when she had me get up to walk to try and move the baby a little. I don't think they'll know if you don't drink quite that much water.
