IVF works, what is preventing natural conception

I am pregnant through IVF and very thankful for being pregnant I do have some questions though. After 2 years of trying naturally, then with chlomid, then AI, we tried IVF. We got pregnant on our 1st try of IVF. Through all my medical exams, all they could find wrong is that I have mild PCOS and a small fibroid. Everything else looked good. Chlomid produced one to two eggs per cycle, but they just never fertilized.

After doing the IVF, one ovary released early. The other ovary produced 7 eggs, 5 of which fertilized, 4 of which were considered good quality. Nothing special was needed to make these eggs fertilize. So, why is it that my husband and I have had 2 years of unsuccessful fertilization naturally. What could medically prevent natural fertilization from occuring given that there was no problem in a lab setting?

Thanks for your insights.
