Help-too many different opinions!From: Jan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 12 Jun 2003 13:16:56 -0500 (CDT)
Between my OB, the others in the practice, and this board there are so many different guidelines on heartrate restrictions and exercise I am confused! One OB on here says 120 max. and another says do what you usually do- for me there is a VERY big different between the two! I run, lift weights and teach spinning (and have done so for 10 years), I no longer run much, my heartrate gets too high and everything else I do try to vary it considerably (usu. between 115-145 bpm, I feel good and this is taking it down considerable for me), but now I hear less than 120, I might as well spend the next 6 mos. in my recliner! My understanding is that the the ACOG guidelines no longer even mention a max. HR, so why so many opinions? I am concerned I have been doing too much. Please give me some good solid advice here. ANy info. would be appreciated.
