Re: 'stripping the membranes' - to lisaFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 5 Jun 2003 17:28:03 -0500 (CDT)
KM: As I said twice, I meant no offense in my post and yes, I have been in your shoes. I have two beautiful children that came when they decided (one was 2 days early, the other was 2 days late). In between those two births, we suffered a twin-partial molar pregnancy. That means (1) we lost twins and (2) I was at risk for developing molar cancer from it and we were forced to wait for 7 months post D&C before being allowed to ttc again. I worried about my post-molar baby's health every day while he was in utero, but I was never in a hurry for him to be born before he was ready. I tried very hard to enjoy the privilege of carrying a human being inside me. I figure babies know when the "right" time is to be born. I'm very sorry about your grandmother, that must be very difficult to deal with on top of everything else. I'm sorry if my wording offended you, I just thought perhaps a reminder of the miraculous journey you're on would help destress you a little. And by the way, I don't think my advice was either "silly" or "feel good" - it's how I feel about it and that's that. If my advice doesn't help at all, please disregard it, no offense will be taken :o) Best of luck to you, Lisa P.
