I know what you mean. I am 7 months pregnant with an active 17 month old to look after. I ache a lot, especially in the area just under my bump, after I do anything strenuous at all. Sometimes it can hurt just to walk. However, I definitely would not recommend getting pain relief in order to do housework. If your body is aching, it is sending you a message to rest, not numb the pain so you can do more. Also, you say you'd like pain relief for just one day, but if you did this and then did lots of housework, the resulting pains would probably last for days and you would really suffer. I know it's hard, but try to forget the mess. It's not worse risking your health. I'm sure your partner will understand once you explain to him how you've been feeling, and once he's home he can do his fair share.
