Re: Cervix tight shutFrom: Darcie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 May 2003 13:17:30 -0500 (CDT)
Wow Andrea, can I ever relate. This is my third baby. I was induced last week at 38.5 weeks due to PIH with 2 days of cervadil, and one day of pitocin, which only dilated me to 2cm and effaced my cervix to 75%. It is still posterior (tipped back). I went home on the 3rd day b/c my bp stabilized, to see if anything would happen on its own. Well, that was 6 days ago, and I am due tommorrow. My dr stripped my membranes (again) on tues, and it seemed I lost some of my plug yesterday..then nothing again. I've tried sex (lots of it) and nipple stimulation too. Since sex caused such strong contractions for you, that would be my suggestion- keep at it! :) Like your midwife, my OB is very surprised that my cervix is just not reacting. Maybe the shop's been closed up too long (9.5 years since my last), I don't know (lol). But I sure share in your frustration. I will be induced again on Monday, with a foley catheter along with pitocin, if my bp remains stable and I don't go in on my own. Keep us posted. Hope it happens for you soon, and maybe I'll have some sympathy pains!!! darcie
