HELP!!!! For Doctors! Bleeding after Bowel Movement

I am really scared because I am now about 8 weeks pregnant and for the past few days i have had bright red bleeding from my vagina after a bowel movement. I am absolutely sure it is from my vagina. I have called my advice nurse about it and she said that it is perfectly normal to bleed bright red like this in the first trimester. Is that so??? I am really scared because it was really red. What are the causes of this bleeding? Could I be miscarrying?
