My experience was a miscarriage at 13 weeks after seeing a heartbeat in the 6th and 12th week. Unfortunately I did not have symptoms of anything wrong when I had my visit at 14 weeks. The ultrasouns estimated the baby had died in the 13 week. I went a few more days until the D&C was scheduled and my body just never got the signal to spot or cramp. It was a tough loss to take without some warning but it does happen. I don't believe it happens frequently but I think you read about it more on the web. Just a side note I always cringe when someone prefaces a question about loss whether it be early or late as "Horror" stories. While they are tragic events they are facts of life not stories designed to scare others.
