45 minute long contraction?!

I have been to L&D twice in three days because of severe pain at the top of my uterus that lasts 45 minutes or more. The pain radiates down the sides of my uterus, and my entire belly tightens the whole time. It starts as subtle pain, but within a half hour escalates to severe pain (9 out of 10 on my scale). I cannot walk or talk through it.

The problem is, we don't get in the car until the pain is severe, and by the time we get to the hospital, the pain is gone, so they are unable to moniter it. So, I get sent home with no explanations as to what it could have been. I am 37 weeks pregnant, and scheduled for a c-section (breech baby) at 39 weeks. I can't handle this type of pain for two more weeks!! Any insights?

Thanks, Karen
