Hi, I can't answer the question on the stool softener and aspirin, but I can tell you (from experience) that constipation can definitely hurt! I have a very high threshold for pain, and when I was preggo with my son, I thought I was having an apendicitis attack. It had me keeled over. I was so embarrassed to go to my obgyn with this, for him to tell me "you just have a full bowel". He did tell me a stool softeneer was fine, but I wasn't taking aspirin. Sure enough, when I did go, the pain was gone. Good luck! Peace, LYnn
