I am very active too and i took Clomid for a year (all the way up to 200mg. I gained about 5 pounds (felt much bigger-bloated) but once i was off i felt better - still haven't taken off the weight though. I does effect everyone differently - i didn't have the moodiness that eeveryone talkes about either with the exception of a feeling of wanting to cry for no reason once in a while - but it passed. Your best bet is to keep up the exercise and good eating habits.
