Re: Can car accident cause miscarriage? How will I know if I'm on progesterone?

Fadette,

Congrats on the pregnancy and I hope this one does well. Babies are very protected inside the uterus. A "small" car accident isn't likely to hurt the baby. But you'll be worried so call your doc and talk to him/her. I had a small accident at about 5 months and the doc did an ultrasound and all was well - did more damage to mom than baby because I had a small bruise from the seatbelt locking. As far as the progesterone is concerned, I took it following IVF and started to spot so the doc upped my dose. Well, that IVF didn't work and even on a double dose (can't remember dosage anymore), I had a regular period and begged them to run blood test to prove neg pregnancy so I could go off progesterone. So while most people say you won't bleed on the progesterone, I did (maybe I'm unusual). My best advice is call your doc and get some reassurance. You certainly deserve it! Again, hope all goes well with this little one!!!!!
