breastfeeding, birth control, and endoFrom: Alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 May 2003 21:49:07 -0500 (CDT)
I am 39 weeks. I want to breastfeed my baby but need to know what kind of birth control I can take that would be compatible with breastfeeding AND continue to supress my endometriosis. I was on the pill for years before I had a lap to remove most of the endo. I was on lupron and then got pregnant so the endo will minimal after I deliver. I know that it will probably come back but I would like to minimize the symptoms by going back on the pill. But I've read that you can't use the pill while breastfeeding. Even though breastfeeding is best for the baby, I am willing to wean early if the pill is my only option. Do I have any other options? I have yet to discuss this with my doctor but plan to at my next visit. Just wanted some ideas before I went in. Thanks in advance.
