depressed....From: Michele (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 12 May 2003 12:20:59 -0500 (CDT)
Is it possible to start a postpartum depression 6 months after giving birth? I have a 6 month old and a 27 month old. I've been feeling depressed and sad most days for the past few weeks. I'm also REALLY exhausted... My 6 month old was just starting to sleep through the night but is now teething and my 27 month old is in his "terrible twos". Are these just normal feeling considering I have two children close in age or could this be postpartum depression??? I had a bit of the baby blues when my first was 1 month old but I was able to shake it off within a few weeks. I feel the same way now (tired, impatient, sad, lonely) but can't seem to shake it. Would antidepressants help me? I'm afraid to take them because I've never really taken "serious" medication before. Please help... any suggestions?
