Still would like an answer to the Level 2 U/S - effectiveness. ThankyouFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 3 May 2003 08:09:22 -0500 (CDT)
I showed an increased risk of downs syndrome with my triple screen. (1:84) Had a L2 ultrasound with an AWESOME and very confident perinatalogist. (poor guy had just done 31 ultrasounds the day before - needless to say, practice makes perfect) NO MARKERS were found. We had decided if 1 marker showed, we'd get amnio...since I didn't get the amnio, he said we could come back in 3 weeks for another L2. I was crazed during the u/s. 1. Is this standard protocol for a pregnancy or just for a crazy mom? 2. If the 2nd u/s shows no markers, does that increase our chances further that we are ok? (I again will have amnio if 1 marker shows) THANK YOU FROM A Pregnancy Hypochondriac...if there is such a thing!!
