The blackish looking blood is most likely from you dr, doing a vaginal exam. This is very common, since the cervix is quite vascular. Th mucus plug usually looks like snot(sorry for being gross) and may or may not have a pinkish tinge to it. May I ask why your dr is "helping" your cervix along when you are only 36 weeks? Take care
